Parkwood International Golf Course

Doug and Shari were married at Parkwood International Golf Course on the Gold Coast.  In what can only be described as an eventful day – we saw our way through thunderstorms, torrential rain and hail to produce some amazing memories.

Parkwood International Golf Course

Over the 15 years that I have been photographing weddings, I have photographed couples getting married at Parkwood International Golf course several times. For a golf course, it offers a range of interesting features in an attractive setting.

This was the second wedding that I was lucky enough to work alongside of A Little Bliss Events, purveyor of amazing furniture. If you are looking to add some extra zing to a wedding day, or styling your own wedding, it is worth a few moments to go to their website www.alittlevintagebliss.com.au/welcome

How great do the reflections look? It is melted hail that has formed pools of water on the surface of the concrete.

In addition to the hail we were treated to several intense rainfalls. It really was a day for umbrellas.  Sensible photographers would have stayed indoors.  I seem to have been born sadly lacking in the area of sensibility! Seems to make for some great images though.

Doug and Shari themselves were great to spend time with.  They have such a fantastic relationship and relate to each other so well that photographing them was a genuine treat.

I especially loved the speeches.  Doug’s grandmother confused the wedding for an old-school roasting and much to the delight of the assembled guests stuck it to Doug from start to finish.

As the night progressed and the dance floor descended into chaos, guests, family members and the happy couple themselves had an amazing time celebrating a magical marriage.
