Weddings Pether’s Rainforest Retreat

Weddings Pethers Rainforest Retreat played host to the wonderful wedding celebration between Chris and Meghan. Experience really does count! With the heavens threatening to split open and soak bridal party and guests alike, the outdoor ceremony was moved at the 11th hour to Pether’s gorgeous enclosed deck – which really does give the impression that you are standing in the middle of a rain forest while you get married!

Massive kudos to Dan from Pethers Rainforest Retreat who reset the chairs and decorations with calm efficiency and Hope for monitoring the weather radar and for being an awesome person in general.

The criteria that I have for my images is that they are either Atmospheric, Elegant or Enduring. Sometimes they can be more than one of these and occasionally they can be all three.

Officiated by Karen Miles, one of the loveliest celebrants you will meet, the ceremony was a beautiful declaration of love. Chris, struggling at times to see through his tears, managed to set just about everyone else to crying as well.

Due to the delayed start caused by the poor weather, I had to make some key decisions about how we would use the remainder of the light. I decided that we would need to delay family photos until the reception and sacrifice some of the bridal party combination photos in order to utilize the light and environment close to hand.

The reception was a fantastic party, with live music and laughter long into the night. A feature of receptions at Pethers Rainforest Retreat is the roaring wood fire!! Certainly welcome in winter!

The lovely floral decorations in these photos were designed and crafted by Ingrid over at Florabunda Flowers. Ingrid commands a massive amount of respect with wedding professionals on Mt Tamborine and is a committee member of the Tamborine Mountain Weddings Group – an excellent resource for people getting married in this part of the world!
