The Bearded Dragon

Sam and Shannon were married at a private address with their wedding reception conducted at The Bearded Dragon at Mt Tamborine.  What I loved most about this wedding was that Sam and Shannon constructed a celebration that was simple, elegant and true to their character.

Prior to the wedding day I met Sam and Shannon three times.  The initial consultation, the pre-wedding/couple shoot and the studio bridal shoot which are all standard inclusions to all of my wedding photography packages.

As well as providing my couple with some great images, these meetings are an excellent opportunity to become more familiar with each other.  I find the more relaxed my couples are with the idea of being photographed, the more natural the results on the wedding day itself.

I also use the pre-wedding shoot to go through the details of the wedding day and to role play key moments, particularly those from the service. Overcoming ‘boxer nose’ syndrome in your wedding kiss is quite simply a must!

Some venues offer a plethora of photographic opportunities.  Others require that you do some research before the wedding day in order to find settings that will be suitable. The Bearded Dragon is well located to allow easy and quick access to amazing local features.

For this wedding, I used my local knowledge of Mt Tamborine and took Samantha and Shannon to some of my “Secret Places”.  The results are that I was able to put together a collection of diverse and beautiful bridal party photos in a short amount of time.

For some of these images, I actually waded out into the middle of the river and shot back.  By using both perspectives of the tree that had fallen across the river, I was able to get some lovely reflection in the side that had still water.

It was an incredible reception! The Mason Rack Band tore the roof off The Bearded Dragon.  Words cannot adequately describe the added dimension that a great live band contributes to a wedding reception.

With my complimentary selfy camera in full swing (think photobooth without walls) and the band jamming, the wedding reception passed by all too quickly!
