Gold Coast Wedding Photography
Gold Coast Wedding Photography by Steve McMarson.
Adriana and Shannon were married at the Intercontinental Chapel at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast. They then made the fabulous decision to hire “The Point”, a private home, for their reception. Then using a combination of stylists, planners and their own elbow grease they staged an amazing reception! A list of the service providers is given at the end of the blog should you want to contact them. A big shoutout thought to Trhysa Casey from Champagne Events for keeping everything running smoothly from start to finish!
My wedding packages include a complimentary pre-wedding shoot. During the pre-wedding shoot we talk logistics of the wedding day and role-play some critical moments, like putting on the wedding ring, the wedding kiss and a number of other key moments. The main benefit of the prewedding shoot, however, is that it gives the couple and I a chance to spend time together prior to the wedding day so that we can become accustomed to each others personalities.
On the day of their wedding, I first touched base with Shannon – where the boys were in the final stages of getting ready. It was good to have the opportunity to build rapport with the guys prior to the commencement of the formal part of the day.
Once I had finished with the boys I headed over to The Point and documented the details of the decoration, rings, shoes, jewellery, dresses and the last of the hair and makeup preparation.
Things were running very smoothly right up until Adriana struck the ice-berg!! Without going into details, mainly because I remember the tension levels more than the actual ice-berg … things went to 9.77 on a 10 point scale of impending meltdown!! Big Kudos to everyone for staying calm under fire!
With the clock ticking and with tension mounting, tragedy was averted at the 11th hour and things were back on track .. but CRIKEY – it was a near run thing!
Over at the Chapel, the boys had greeted guests and Shannon was having his own ice-berg moment. It seems that something had gotten in his eye and he was leaking vast amounts of fluid from his eyes. Four handkerchiefs and a pinch or two of concrete latter, he was saying his I DO’s.
After the obligatory group shot and family images, we were off for a stroll around the grounds. I was really looking to combine my trade mark fine-art style with genuinely candid moments to build a diverse range of wedding day portraits.
The criteria I have for my images is that they need to be either Atmospheric, Elegant or Enduring. I think this collection of wedding portraits tick those boxes.
The reception had a magnificent sense of fun while maintaining a demure and elegant flavor. From games through to sparklers and fare-welling the newly-weds as they took ship, the entire celebration was perfect!
A final observation from this wedding .. the men at this gathering were seriously batting above their weight!
